You seem to have 2 people using your log-in details, one that can put a sentence together correctly - and one that can't.baz1 wrote:I always like to put something to keep you alert and your mind stimulated Mike !!

I'm certainly not complaining though !

Re: Diesel prices in the UK
Premium Diesel down from 124.9 to 115.9 near Fairford. Just filled up for under £60!
Re: Diesel prices in the UK
Suggest you investigate the real requirement for Premium Diesel.
Re: Diesel prices in the UK
Local garage has returned to twice weekly discounted fuel - today £1.009/litre.
Been saving my 4p/litre discount voucher, from a Norfolk paper, so took a lovely tank full at £0.969/litre.

Still going down here it would seem.
Took another full tank at £0.999/litre, less my 4p/litre discount voucher, so paid £0.959/litre.
That's a lot better than the £1.30 ish/litre that Mike started with in August 2015.

Newtown Powys. Diesel Prices
Tesco/Morrisons 99.7ppl
BP 101.9ppl
Texaco 102.9ppl
Could possibly come down even further now that sanctions lifted against Iran, but the low prices must be affecting Mr Osbourne's Tax income. So would also not be surprised to see a rise in the Fuel duty.

Re: Diesel prices in the UK
I think the duty on petrol is fixed rather than a percentage but I could be wrong. Locally to me Sainsbury's are doing petrol and diesel at 99p/litre, BP & Shell seem to be 4-5p/litre more.welshandy wrote:Newtown Powys. Diesel Prices

In this world there's two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig.
Re: Diesel prices in the UK
Morrisons & ASDA in Inverness are both at 99.7p per litre for both diesel & unleaded and we're about 156 miles from the refinery at Grangemouth - that's a lot of transportation costs !
Re: Diesel prices in the UK
You are right Sparts99, George Osbourne takes 57.95p from every litre sold, plus he takes VAT at 20%.
So, on a litre price of £1.00, the nett price is 1/1.2 = 83.33p (16.67p VAT).
For every litre at £1.00, the government take 57.95p fixed and 16.67p variable = 74.62p/litre.
Whilst they will have a reduced VAT return, it is the supply chain that must bear the cost of these reductions.

Brent Crude down another 3 dollars a barrel in the last week to 28.76, When will these falls be reflected in prices at the pump?
Re: Diesel prices in the UK
Prices around me (Aberdeenshire) are pretty good at the moment...Currently 104.99 per litre for momentum 99 from Tesco, happy with that for the moment
