Magazine
I all. For the first time in history, Grimsby has not got a decent magazine shop. It lost WH Smith last year and just left second class magazine shops, which don't sell the full range of aviation mags.
This means I may have to subscribe, but which one should I choose?. So many such as Airforces monthly, Combat aircraft or Aviation news.
Any advice on the best ones.

Re: Magazine
I David,
Sales of magazines have dropped enormously since the invention of the internet, however I agree with Paddy about his choice.
Take out a years' subscription on a couple of them, you won't be disappointed.
I was in my doctor's waiting room last week and was reading their latest magazine, apparently 77 % of all houses in the UK will have televisions by 1962.

Re: Magazine
Don't forget your local Newsagent.
If you ask them you'll be surprised what they can get.
Mines been getting me Smithsonian Air & Space for years now.
www.airspacemag.com
I used to get Cycle World, if it was still in the bag it said 'package 1 of 1, containing 1 copy' they didn't do many of those then.

Re: Magazine
WH Smiths in Worcester fortunately stock the whole range of aviation and modelling mags and for every other subject known to man or beast, and woman! but Tesco think trains are more popular, they carry seven railway titles against two for planes, neither of which I buy! I have to say I only have one magazine every month now, that being Scale Aircraft Modelling!
Re: Magazine
I have subscribed to Airforces Monthly for many years if that helps you make decisions cheers.
Re: Magazine
I've bought every issue of AFM(except for two) since April 1991. I did feel they lost their way a couple of years back, but over the last 6 mths they seem to have picked up again.
Re: Magazine
I really liked AFM have so for quite a while. Didn't like the photo format in the first issues on top of one another. But last year or so they got a new editor and to many mistakes for me. Emailed and told them I wouldn't renew my subscription till I heard back from them, Never did hear from them so that was the end of that. Don't miss it all all. To many other sources for the same info. Just my 2 centsThunder wrote:I've bought every issue of AFM(except for two) since April 1991.
