Here's an oddball request!
I'm currently working on a revised edition of one of the old "Action Stations" books which features histories of used/disused military airfield sites. I need to gather some pictures of airfields in Wales, and the areas adjacent to the county. Pictures of remnants, buildings, and so on.
Any members out that way who might be able to help by taking a few photos? If you can help I'd love to hear from you. Anything used in the book would be credited to you and in exchange for some pictures I could provide you with a free copy of the finished publication.
If you think you might be able to help, please message me. I can give you a list of the various sites, etc., and explain more!
Thanks guys!
Did you know that registration to Fighter Control is completely free and brings you lots of added features? Find out more....

Re: Any FC members in Wales?
If you could post a list on here that'd be helpful....I've been to a few old airfields in Wales while on Holiday and taken some snaps....

Re: Any FC members in Wales?
I'm based in Swansea
Regularly visit Swansea (Fairwood)airport and Pembrey, there's precious little of any wartime vintage at Swansea apart from some old pillboxes, much the same with Pembrey really though the ammunition revetments and railway links are still there. Glad to help in any way if I can.

Do please PM me if you can help - that would be great. I can't post a list on here as it's pretty long and it would be a bit unfair to take-up FC space on a book project! Suffice to say the the coverage area is basically all of Wales plus a bit of the adjacent counties - including current, disused and virtually erased sites where possible. As mentioned, some sites have little left apart from the odd pill box but any images are useful as they show readers what they're likely to see if they go visiting for themselves. It's surprising how even some of the most tiny former satellite fields still have little bits of concrete track or the odd fence left as a reminder!
