Prob ground testing (i.e engine testing before the next planed etd ,no notams showing as rny active)the other night I saw a b-52 doing exact same thing.

P.s just been down the Driffield end and can comferm single '52 on ground engine tests,nothing on ops freqs ,so assume just an engineer is in the jet at this time :)

I can hear an awful racket from mine (5 miles from 27 end)... U2 engine runs at 10pm! Zoiks!

No sign of any U-2 movements this morning did one depart last night? At least one visible from 27 end in hangar

Both U2s still here....dragged 089 out this morning for a quick ground run and put it away again

Next U2 is due off at 10am.... what departed at around 0300 this morning? Reg number?

Is that 03:00L or Z?The airfield wasn't open til 03:30L,and the first aircraft reported as taking off was a B52 at 05:24L.Do you know something that hasn't been reported?
