Re ,weather ,it's slowly improving at the mo,just cloudy ,no rain so far :thumb:
Given the wind wouldn't it be safe to say they are going to land on 27? In which case why do you feel a ladder is necessary?

Because we have got a brand new fence which is quite tall, similar to Brize and I suspect the hall and LN ,it's a green fence which might not be so nice for photography ,but if you bring ladder you might be able to get some shots looking over the new fence

16.10BST "CLEAN82" Maine ANG KC-135R 58-0098 [AE0148] looks as if it is positioning down to McGuire AFB for tomorrow's effort.

The folk on the gate said that you can go on the base nearer arrival time so that should make photos easier assuming it's not too dark.

New fence was fine when the BUFFs were here: so long as you're 6ft-ish. Plus they'll be OK on approach too. At touchdown it gets in the way a bit, but I'd take a ladder and be safe. Ditto any concerns about 'will photography be OK": if you don't have your camera you'll be sorry for sure...

Met Office now showing it brightening from around 9, no rain after 7. Wind SW, so bomb dump end looking OK too.

Sandwiches already consumed.

You won't need a ladder I think you will be on base if you want a touchdown shot. Light will of course be the main issue.

Malcolm reports them at 24W, so I think I will be on my way.

See some of you up the bomb dump (space permitting). I'm in a brown Ford Kuga.

Sorry - typo - it was 42W, not 24W.

Sorry if this has already been asked, I did trawl through the thread and many others first. The RAF F35 is that going back to the US or is it been delivered to the UK as part of this exercise ?
