There is currently a GPM underway,with QUID443flt and MIGHTY11flt x3 B52H ,
I think Fairford is being used as prim diversion base again (same as Tuesdays mission)
I could be wrong but this seems likely .

B-1Bs using B-52 callsign whatever next.....

The fact Fairford appears to have been put on standby again suggests there are B-52s as well as B-1s. The B-1s could divert into several UK bases if their tanking failed, the B-52s only really one.

Or it makes sense to have the base right under their refueling track on standby in case they need to drop the from sky!

It's not a B-52 call sign Max, it's AFGSC. B-2A's use it as well. :thumb:

The B-1's, B-2's and B-52's are all assigned to 8TH Air Force units. Known from its WW2 operations as the "Mighty Eighth" that's possibly why they use that call sign?
