RETRO91 flight and a C5M at Lakenheath 28/1

Post by TeeJay » Sun Jan 29, 2017 8:24 pm

Hi All

A last minute decision on Saturday to nip over to Lakenheath to catch Retro91 flight of F15s return. A nice surprise to find C5M parked on the ramp too, as I hadn't realised one was in. Which was also loaded during the afternoon.
Anyway typically what little sun there was disappeared as soon as the F15s arrived. They were both F15Es 00 3002 and 91 0306, and both looked very clean. Have they had a repaint whilst away? As both wore full LN markings except for the coloured squadron flash at the tip of the tail fins. And neither were fitted with the conformal fuel tanks alongside the fusealage, with no marks to see where they are normally fitted. (Normally if they removed you can see where they were, hence my repaint question.)
