A-10's passing through this week?

Post by TankBuster » Mon Jun 12, 2017 3:26 pm

Noticed on FB over the past couple of days a few mentions of Indiana ANG A-10s passing through Lakenheath on Tuesday 13th. Not sure if this is correct info, but I just wondered if anyone here on FC has heard about this?

Cheers,
TB.
And there's plenty more where that came from!

There is no suitable Shanwick or Santa Maria ALTRV posted for Tuesday, so unlikely there's anything eastbound coming in.

I can't find any mention of Indiana A10's passing through anywhere eastbound this year so far. 122FW had a families day last Saturday (10th June) and seems unlikely to me that they would do that if everyone were away but due back shortly - in the next week or so. They may be due to deploy, but A-10's would normally bounce through somewhere half way so will be several days away yet.

There were 12 DM A-10's eastbound through Spain back in mid January, and no reports of them going home yet. If it's something westbound then it's more likely these?

I thought this forum was about sharing information....clearly not...I often drive over 4 hours each way to be at the end of Lakenheath's runway to see these deployments but info is hard to come by for me to arrive in time....so a little help would be appreciated.

i asked people on a plane forum to hunt around for more info and you replied " I really don't think it is necessary to give us instructions! "

your the one with an attitude ! it may have been hot the other day but thats no reason to be rude on fighter control wen all im asking is for people to try find out some info...which ive found out now and shared here

You did have a patronising tone - you may not mean it but on a written blog it is easily inferred.

Thanks Slogen, that's exactly what I was getting at, no one on here needs someone else telling us what we need to do, we all know and will, when possible, share on here. Constantly being told to go and find out then share on here will only get the opposite effect. Whilst I am sure the intentions were honourable, that isn't the way it comes across.
As for me being rude, there is absolutely nothing in my post that is in any way rude, just succinct and to the point.
Cheers

Changing the subject slightly ,every rumour about this deployment so far has failed to materialise.
The latest which was in today and out Saturday now looks to be not happening .
So it's probably best to put this thread to rest until something more solid is known.

is patronising :halo: it never ceases to amaze me how some people manage to read into totally innocent comments all kinds of hidden meanings. This is a forum about planes and as no one had an answer re the A10's i felt it worth asking people to go do a little digging ( the more people hunting for info the better as so many people do just sit back waiting for answers on a plate while doing nothing themselves , i mean go ask mates, contacts, base mates, facebook the many dozens of groups covering raf bases , twitter etc that all takes time and is far easier covered if many people go digging ) you chose to take offence to that, im glad my mind doesnt jump to negative conclusions as fast as you do , try to not respond so negativly in future lets keep this forum positive.
