Torbay Airshow 2018

Post by George Aldrich » Tue Jun 05, 2018 8:42 pm

I was fortunate enough to be able to get a last-minute respite from A-level exam season last weekend, by traveling to Torbay for the airshow on the Saturday.
My first encounter with a seafront event, and one that I found refreshing from the usual somewhat frantic rush to a crowdline view, that base-oriented shows can sometimes present.

All in all, a highly enjoyable event, with fair weather to boot - considering the grand total of £0.00 for tickets, it certainly brought out many families and enthusiasts alike for the day, a nice change of scenery for me too.

Thanks for looking.

George

Well done George. Nice set of photo's there. I picked up a message from the Strikemaster team on Sunday, and they were impressed with the weather aswell.
Thanks for posting them and good luck with your exams.

Cheers

Thanks man, all the best with your exams! I remember GCSEs well... definitely right, getting out to do things in between certainly eases things!

Thank you John! Glad to hear Mark had a good experience of the show - he definitely put on a really punchy routine with her. Even stood as I was some miles from the beach where the majority of the displays were aimed at, she looked fab!

Hi,

Nice photographs. Saturday wasn't that bad, Sunday started off less promising but by the display time was 100% blue sky.

Nice set of photos, where did you take them from? I couldn't be ar5ed with the traffic, so spent an easy Sunday afternoon at the end of the runway at Exeter, watching the comings and goings.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks chaps!
These were taken from the pathway at Roundham Head. Lovely location and rather busy, but plenty of room to move lenses around.

Like the shots of the reds

Flying the spitfire must be one of the best jobs in the world?
