Missed her land as I was on the other side of the airfield, so hope I get to see her take off before next week

I thought that they are the U-2 hangars and the B-2 hangar is the RUBB one?

The hangars that the U-2s use are in fact B-2 hangars and were built especially for them, that's why they're wide and not tall (Long and thin, in other words)

The Rubb hangar was also built for B-2s I believe, and has in the past been used for maintenance although I don't think it has been used for quite a while...

Is it true that more B-52's are due into FFD this week ?
Flying prevails whenever a man and his airplane are put to a test of maximum performance.

I miss those photo calls, I'm just scanning the Cannon F111s and the B52s photocall from 94.

To clarify further...

The "U2 Hangar" is indeed a hangar which was purpose built for the B-2, it's a climate controlled hangar where a B-2 is housed overnight. It just so happens you can fit 4 U-2s in the hangars.

The other hangar on the south side of the airfield is the B-2 Low Observability Dock used for both LO and general maintenance on B-2's. It was last used in 2008.

Cheers,
MIke

And I still have the photo's from the F111 photo call and the awesome cockpit shot ah happy days :P that made up for me missing raf heyford long story :(
Me too! - although I did get loads of cine/video at Upper Heyford. Worst moment for me during that CC deployment was being by their parking spots when one (being flown by an Australian pilot) took the wire on recovery at the other end - would have been great on video!

Fairford and Upper Heyford were my second homes during the 90s, even when I was supposed to be at college. But when I was at college at Farnborough Tech I could see the RAE stuff coming over the top all day from my classroom. I miss that comrod!!! :'(
