The Reds are defo in at Shawbury along with Typhoon, blades and most of the aerial display aircraft. Obviously the Gulcan and BBMF won't be but apparently the Flying Fortress display team are saying they will be which is good.
The Vulcan is due to display at The Welshpool Air Show late afternoon on the 13th and could possible be under the
control of Shawbury ATC for its transit (fingers crossed)

Just a quick question, have checked throckmortons running order and typhoon is down for a 15.20 display time on saturday rather than around midday so unsure which info is correct as not seen an out of hours NOTAM for Shawbury on saturday. If the slot time is correct is it likely that the typhoons will arrive saturday instead of tomorrow? Scarecrow are you able to shed some light on it at all? Any chance of a Vulcan fly through as well sunday and will the F86 drop in for fuel as has done in the past?

Thanks for that Foxtrot,i cant get down there today so if anyone is going and the 2 Typhoons do come in can someone post.Regarding tomorrow, have just seen a NOTAM for Throckmorton which is in place for the displays between 1pm and 5pm BST so the display slot for Typhoon at 3.20pm is looking more the one to go by.

I had a nice leisurely drive from Lancashire arriving at Shawbury at 07.30am the roads were deserted and I parked at the prime spot next to the landing lights, Martin and Jennie had already arrived.

We were soon joined by some of the locals and a lot of interesting banter ensued, I'm use to seeing Typhoon reheat
takeoffs but its the first time I have been actually underneath when the typhoon has pulled up into the vertical with the EJ 200s at full throttle.

The Red Arrows were spectacular when they flew in, it was in a ten man formation with a couple of nice passes
which enabled some of us to get super wide angle lens shots. On returning from The Cosford Airshow the Reds flew a couple of tight 9 nine arrow formations which finished with a nine ship bomb burst over the airfield with each jet
trailing white smoke.

If you think about the lack of aircraft at Shawbury you could look at it in another way, we actually saw 20 hawk movements + 4 Typhoons the 20 hawks include red ten which arrived earlier as a singleton.

Not noted by me personally - but I believe Sea King ZF117 was on the ground an hour or so ago... :S
